Eramol UK Limited is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.

 

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Current Emissions Reporting

Whilst emissions were reported in 2023, the number of categories measured in 2024 have increased significantly. As such, the emissions measured in 2024 are a more representative figure and will form the new baseline for measuring future emissions reductions against.

 

Emissions reduction targets

In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.

We aim to ensure that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 471 tCO2e by 2029. This is a reduction of 17%

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

 

The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented in the previous few years. 

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives 

  • All four sites are supplied by 100% renewable energy 
  • All company cars have been electrified 
  • Hybrid & remote working policies have been introduced 
  • Solar panel installations across half the organisation’s facilities have been completed 
  • Virtual meeting policies have been introduced 
  • LED lighting has been installed across two thirds of the organisation's facilities 
  • Oil heaters have been removed from the warehouse area 

 

Planned carbon reduction initiatives:

The following measures are being investigated and may form part of our climate strategy:

  • Replacement of EPS Insulated containers with Biodegradable alternatives
  • Introduce Cycle to Work Scheme for all employees to encourage sustainable transportation methods for commuters 
  • Installation of additional solar panels across the organisation by 2027 
  • Encourage behavioural changes via publication of energy usage at company-wide meetings 
  • Introduce motion sensor LED lighting across the organisation by 2028 
  • Encourage use of EVs for car hire and sustainable hotel options and economy class travel via public transport wherever possible 
  • Continue with virtual meetings wherever possible 
  • Periodically review and update working arrangements in line with best practice and latest technology developments 
  • Implement all available technical solutions, including hardware and software building and energy management systems as appropriate 
  • Review the requirements for ISO14001 or equivalent certification schemes 
  • Replacing desktop PCs with low energy laptops where possible 

              

Declaration and Sign Off

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.

Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard[1] and uses the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting[2].

Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard3.

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors (or equivalent management body).
